Hadid: Spiral House

Zaha Hadid’s Spiral House is an unbuilt proposition for a villa in the Hague, Netherlands. Animation techniques in Maya were used to study the existing design and explore qualitative changes. The house’s principles of organization are used as transforming parameters along two axes. The result presents the notion of ‘stage’ – a space for “events, performance, and/or everyday cultural practice.”

These 4×4 matrices document the applied transformations. From iteration C3, a portion of the computer model was milled on a 3-axis CNC router.
